The Minister of Internal Administration, Maria Lúcia Amaral, is visiting the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Serpins, in the municipality of Lousã, this Thursday, August 28.
After meeting with the association’s leaders, the minister addressed journalists.
“Only those who know, who study, who have the science, who have the technique can help the political power to face the problem of fires,” she remarked, emphasizing that the Government is open to receiving this input.
“All the contributions from scholars who study the forest, climate change, and ways to respond to this profound problem are very welcome for political decision-making,” she stated.
According to Maria Lúcia Amaral, the government is now “preparing for winter and what comes after, ensuring precisely that [the supports] reach people in the most agile, least bureaucratic, and most efficient way” so that “what is necessary can be rebuilt in the domains of Health, Housing, Economy, and Infrastructure.”
