The MTSSS has announced following a meeting this morning of the Permanent Commission of the Social and Solidarity Sector, where Minister Rosário Palma Ramalho requested input from social partners for a study aimed at simplifying the rules and procedures for licensing and operating social services.
“The aim of the government is to reduce the bureaucracy that prevents social institutions from increasing their installed capacity, particularly in high-demand services such as nurseries and Residential Structures for the Elderly (ERPI). This need has long been identified by social partners,” stated the Ministry’s communiqué.
The communiqué also noted that the government committed to implementing the necessary changes for this process and licensing simplification within this year, after receiving contributions from the Social and Solidarity Sector institutions.
The elimination of these bureaucratic hurdles, the government noted, should accelerate the implementation of projects under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in the area.
