“We will evaluate the possibility of a connection to Morocco, there have been contacts, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs with our Minister of Foreign Affairs,” stated Maria da Graça Carvalho during a press conference at the ministry in Lisbon.
According to the official, “there is interest from Morocco in connecting to Europe,” which already exists with Spain and another connection with Germany is under study.
“We can look into the possibility of joining one of the existing projects, a new one from scratch will certainly be very expensive, but we will assess the feasibility of also entering one of these projects,” explained the minister.
Maria da Graça Carvalho emphasized that a “very preliminary” contact was made, and now the first meeting between representatives of the two countries will follow at the ministry.
