Government will maintain the value of the IUC: “Circulation of false information”

“In response to the spread of false information, particularly on social media, it is important to clarify that the Government will not implement any increase in the IUC [Single Circulation Tax] for vehicles before or after 2007,” stated a clarification released by the Ministry of Finance.

The changes under preparation, included in the Agenda for Tax Simplification presented on January 16 of this year and to be presented and discussed in the Assembly of the Republic, “only concern the timing of tax payment and the introduction of installment options for amounts exceeding 100 euros,” it explains.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this change “facilitates voluntary compliance, reduces the risk of forgetfulness, and avoids the imposition of fines.”

Thus, it insists, “not only will there be no increase in the IUC, but this measure will also alleviate the financial burden, especially for families with more than one vehicle.”
