Greenvolt obtains financing of 35 million for a project in Denmark

In a statement, Greenvolt announces that the project finance agreement signed by Greenvolt Power with Ringkjøbing Landbobank is aimed at the construction of a hybrid project with a total planned capacity exceeding 150 Megawatts (MW). This includes 97.36 MW of solar generation and 55-60 MW (110-120 Megawatt-hours (MWh)) of storage capacity.

The project’s estimated annual production, currently under construction in the eastern region of Denmark and expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2026, is 97 Gigawatt-hours (GWh).

Quoted in the statement, Greenvolt’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), João Manso Neto, highlights that hybrid projects like this, which combine solar and battery power, “allow for the optimization of renewable energy production and utilization.”

He further emphasizes that they “represent a way to differentiate and further enhance the value of” Greenvolt’s assets, reinforcing “the interest of institutional stakeholders, including financial institutions.”

Meanwhile, Jørn Nielsen, managing director of Ringkjøbing Landbobank, states that “financing sustainable and responsible projects is fully aligned with the institution’s strategy.”

“We are pleased to support Greenvolt in this project in Høegholm, which generates real regional impact and contributes to national energy goals,” he asserts.

Adrian Góralski of Greenvolt Power notes that the conclusion of this project finance agreement with Ringkjøbing Landbobank “was a collaborative process that will enable the development of a project significant not only for Greenvolt but also for the energy transition in Denmark and Europe.”

Integrated into the portfolio of the American company Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), Greenvolt currently has a pipeline of 14.1 Gigawatts (GW) in utility-scale projects under development in Europe, the United States, and Asia, covering solar, wind, and storage segments, claiming a position “among the largest European promoters” in the latter, with a total pipeline of 4.7 GW.

The group also operates in the sectors of sustainable biomass and distributed energy generation.
