“The Rodilla Group will implement a growth plan for the Portuguese chain, aiming to enhance its Portuguese character and boost its international expansion,” the statement noted.
The Spanish group, which operates around 300 establishments and includes brands such as Rodilla, Hamburguesa Nostra, Vaca Nostra, Café de Indias, and Jamaica, marks its first venture in Portugal with this initiative. This move represents its second international operation following its entry into Miami in 2019.
The deal is contingent upon approval by the Competition Authority.
Once approved, the group will focus on ensuring a careful transition period, maintaining its attention on team management and the daily operations of the company, as emphasized in the release.
The bakery and pastry chain, A Padaria Portuguesa, was founded 15 years ago by Nuno Carvalho. It currently employs approximately 1,000 workers and operates 84 stores in Greater Lisbon and Greater Porto, along with two factories in Lisbon and Porto.
