Manuel Irénio Nascimento Lopes was arrested in May 2024 at Lisbon airport for drug trafficking, after various packages of cocaine, totaling 13 kilograms, were discovered.
The defendant, aged 57 and a deputy of the Movement for Democratic Alternation (MADEM-G 15), faced a sentence ranging from four to 12 years in prison.
Manuel Lopes had been in preventive detention since his arrest.
