An incident involving gunpowder occurred today during a reenactment of the French Invasions in Boticas, Vila Real district, resulting in two severe injuries, according to a fire department source.
Carlos Gomes, commander of the Boticas Volunteer Firefighters, stated that two individuals suffered “serious burns” during the reenactment event that included “activities with gunpowder.”
“They are currently being assessed by the helicopter team [from INEM] in Macedo de Cavaleiros [Bragança district] and two crews from my fire department in Boticas,” Carlos Gomes specified.
The Civil Protection website reported that the alert was issued at 5:38 PM. Present at the scene are 16 operatives, five ground units, and one aerial unit.
