An 18-year-old was arrested in Cascais yesterday on charges of child pornography, insults, and aggravated coercion against a 15-year-old girl, announced the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) on Monday.
“The suspect and the victim met in January of this year through a social network, and between February and June, they had several sexual encounters,” explained the PJ in a statement.
During these encounters, the suspect produced intimate videos without the minor’s consent. In possession of these materials, he began blackmailing her to obtain more pornographic content, threatening to publicize the files he already had.
The victim eventually disclosed the situation to her parents, who reported the case directly to the Polícia Judiciária’s standby unit.
The authorities commenced an investigation and executed home search warrants, during which they managed to “collect strong indicative evidence that was subsequently subjected to forensic analysis by PJ’s Technological and Computer Expertise Unit,” leading to the suspect’s arrest in flagrante delicto.
The arrested individual will stand before an initial judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
