A 31-year-old man was arrested by the Territorial Command of Braga of the National Republican Guard (GNR) on September 9 for domestic violence, targeting his elderly parents.
In the course of an investigation into domestic violence, the officers of the Guard immediately went to the location, conducting police inquiries that revealed the suspect exercised physical and psychological violence on his parents, a 71-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman, according to a GNR statement received today.
The operation resulted in the suspect’s arrest in the act, with authorities confirming that an investigation into the same illegal conduct was already underway, as noted in the statement.
The detained individual was brought before Braga’s Judicial Court where he was remanded in preventive custody.
