A 60-year-old man was arrested on Friday by the Republican National Guard (GNR) for drug trafficking in the municipality of Viana do Castelo. He had a cannabis plantation.
In a statement, the police force clarified that they were able to identify the suspect following a “cultivation complaint” regarding cannabis.
A search was then carried out at the suspect’s house, which led to the seizure of 232 doses of marijuana.
“The suspect was arrested and named as a defendant, and the facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Viana do Castelo,” the statement reads.
