Heavy rain recently inundated a road in Tercena, near the Rotunda das Seleções, in the parish of Barcarena, Oeiras.
Within minutes, the water level rose so significantly that it became nearly impossible to drive on the affected road.
Firefighters were called to the scene and are working to resolve the situation.
Numerous videos have surfaced on social media showing the flooding.
In one video, a user attributes the responsibility to Isaltino Morais, claiming the re-elected mayor is accountable for such incidents.
“Oeiras being Valley, as always. Thank you Isaltino, for giving us ‘sewer geysers,’ you great ‘benefactor.’ Thanks to those who voted for this great ‘benefactor,'” remarked the Facebook user sarcastically.
The Civil Protection has warned today of the risks of floods, flooding, and falling trees due to the adverse weather expected in the coming days. Road travel should be conducted cautiously, and coastal areas should be avoided.
