The Portuguese driver will be behind the wheel of a Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3.
Henrique Chaves will compete in the GT World Challenge Europe this season and will be one of the few drivers to represent Portugal in the competition in 2023. Together with Miguel Ramos, the Portuguese duo will try to repeat the feat of 2021 when they won the title in the Pro-A category.
In addition to his compatriot, Henrique Chaves will be joined in the Endurance Cup by Louis Prette in a Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3, making for a competitive trio of drivers in the Bronze Cup class.
With a season that includes the Sprint Cup and the Endurance Cup, the young driver from Torres Vedras has eight races ahead of him, one of which is the mythical 24 Hours of Spa-Francor: “I am very happy to return to the GT World Challenge, a championship I know well and where some of the best GT drivers in the world are, so it is a great stage to showcase myself. On top of that, Spa is one of the most important races in the world, where I can compete against very strong opponents. I’m very excited and eager to start the season,” said Henrique Chaves.
“We have already won all the titles except the Endurance Cup, so we want to solve that and repeat the rest. We have a good team, a competitive car and I believe we have strong drivers, so we have all the ingredients to achieve our goals. We know that we will have very tough opponents, but this only adds value to our achievements. Let’s work hard to reach the end of the year with something to celebrate,” he concluded.
The GT World Challenge season kicks off at Monza on April 21-23 and runs through eight events, with the season ending at Barcelona on October 1. The 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be held on July 2.champs.
