The survey results from “Summer 2025 Balance” by AHP, covering the period from June to September, indicate that the “Algarve is the star of the summer of 2025,” according to AHP’s executive vice president, Cristina Siza Vieira.
The average room price in the Algarve rose to 206 euros, with the occupancy rate increasing to 88%, maintaining its price leadership, while Lisbon kept the average room price at 176 euros, and the average occupancy rose to 86%.
“We are entering a plateau in Lisbon, and we will not witness an increase in either occupancy rate or price,” stated the executive vice president of AHP.
Cristina Siza Vieira highlighted Lisbon airport as a constraint to the growth of stays in the city, considering that the facility is already operating at its limit.
“I do not think that the hotel industry’s trend will be to lower prices,” the executive suggested when addressing the stagnation in Lisbon.
The Azores saw a decline, with the occupancy rate dropping to 86%, though the average room price rose to 143 euros.
Similarly, the central region experienced a reduced occupancy rate of 56%, yet the average room price increased to 109 euros.
According to AHP’s survey data, the average room price rose in all regions of the country except Lisbon.
The region with the highest occupancy rate was once again the Autonomous Region of Madeira with 91%.
