
The median price of family housing transactions in Portugal increased by 10.3% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 1,777 euros per square meter (m2), the National Institute of Statistics (INE) announced on Wednesday.
“Based on the 151,784 sales conducted during 2024, the median price of family housing in Portugal was 1,777 euros/m2, representing an increase of 4.0% compared to the year ending in September 2024 and 10.3% compared to 2023,” the INE stated.
The statistical institute reported that the median housing price exceeded the national average in the sub-regions of Greater Lisbon (2,939 euros/m2), Algarve (2,752 euros/m2), Autonomous Region of Madeira (2,395 euros/m2), Setúbal Peninsula (2,117 euros/m2), and the Metropolitan Area of Porto (1,986 euros/m2).
