The final stretch of debates for the upcoming legislative elections on May 18 commenced this Wednesday.
In the latest face-off, CDU leader Paulo Raimundo engaged in a debate with PAN spokesperson Inês Sousa Real on CNN Portugal.
Raimundo stated that “no measures have reduced housing prices; in fact, they have increased,” while Sousa Real emphasized that “proposals like those from PAN for young people would allow them to fulfill the dream of owning a home.”
Further disagreements arose on issues such as the reduction of corporate tax and the VAT applied to bullfighting. The PAN viewed the matter as one of “empathy and respect for animal welfare,” whereas the CDU argued that “traditions can only be resolved by those who create them.”
