Which products have increased the most?

“The price of tomato pulp rose by 23 cents (18%), with a 500-gram package of this product now costing 1.48 euros. Curly lettuce, on the other hand, saw its price rise by 37 cents per kilo (17%), and now costs 2.51 euros,” according to the organization’s website.

How is the price of the basket calculated?
Since January 2022, DECO PROteste has been monitoring the evolution of prices of essential food goods, “analyzing, every Wednesday, the total cost of a basket, based on prices collected on the previous day in major supermarkets with online stores.”
“First, the average price per product is calculated in all available online stores in the simulator. Then, by adding the average price of all products, the cost of the basket for a given day is obtained,” explains DECO PROteste.

The year-on-year inflation rate stood at 2.1% in October in the eurozone, confirmed Eurostat today, indicating that in the European Union (EU) it was 2.5%, with Portugal presenting the sixth lowest (2.0%).
