The Forbes magazine has released the updated list of the world’s wealthiest individuals, once again led by Elon Musk, the head of Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X.
As of September 2025, Musk holds a substantial fortune amounting to $415 billion (approximately €356 billion).
Who are the 10 richest people in the world?
According to Forbes, as of September 1, these were the 10 individuals with the most significant wealth globally:
- Elon Musk ($415.6 billion)
- Larry Ellison ($270.9 billion)
- Mark Zuckerberg ($253 billion)
- Jeff Bezos ($240.9 billion)
- Larry Page ($178.3 billion)
- Sergey Brin ($165.9 billion)
- Bernard Arnault ($154.1 billion)
- Steve Ballmer ($151.3 billion)

- Warren Buffett ($150.4 billion)
Musk’s wealth increased by approximately €12.3 billion in the past month, fueled by an almost 8% rise in Tesla’s stock value.
It’s noteworthy that the publication has been tracking billionaires since 1987. In April 2025, Forbes identified 3,028 individuals fitting this profile in its annual list.

There is a Portuguese figure in the list of the world’s richest
In the annual list released in April, Forbes revealed the world’s wealthiest individuals for 2025, featuring just one Portuguese name. This is Maria Fernanda Amorim, with a fortune estimated at $5.9 billion, approximately €5.4 billion.

However, the Portuguese billionaire has slipped in the rankings. Last year she ascended to 522nd place, but now she stands in 597th position, despite her fortune increasing—it was valued at $5.3 billion last year.
The 90-year-old Portuguese billionaire, along with her three daughters Paula, Marta, and Luísa, inherited the fortune of Américo Amorim, who passed away in July 2017. The fortune’s origins lie in Corticeira Amorim e Irmãos, founded in Mozelos, Santa Maria da Feira. Additionally, Forbes highlights her investments in the energy sector and banks across various countries.
The largest asset of Amorim, as noted by Forbes, “is an estimated 19.5% stake in the Portuguese oil and gas company Galp Energia, chaired by her eldest daughter, Paula.”
The heir to the Amorim empire makes her seventh appearance in this ranking.
