PSD parliamentary leader candidate Hugo Soares will propose former president of the Portuguese Medical Association Miguel Guimarães as first vice-president, he told Lusa today.
Hugo Soares, who is also PSD secretary-general, will vote on Tuesday and will propose a list with 12 vice-presidents, including local coordinator Pedro Alves, JSD leader Alexandre Poço and Hugo Carneiro, a former leader of Rui Rio.
From the previous bench led by Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, now Minister of State and Finance, there are four vice-chairs: Alexandre Poço, Hugo Carneiro, Andreia Neto and Hugo Oliveira.
The other new vice-presidents proposed by Hugo Soares – in addition to Miguel Guimarães and Pedro Alves – are Regina Bastos, Silvério Regalado, Isaura Morais, Cristóvão Norte, João Valle e Azevedo and António Rodrigues.
The elections for the new leadership of the PSD Parliamentary Group are scheduled for Tuesday, between 14:00 and 16:00.
