Prime Minister Luís Montenegro utilized the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to the secretary-general of the Socialist Party (PS), Pedro Nuno Santos. Santos had commented on the “unacceptability” of the Prime Minister’s absence from all television debates.
In his post, Luís Montenegro stated that over “the past year,” he participated in “18 debates in the Assembly of the Republic with all party leaders.”
“I do not avoid any debate, but democracy must respect that in a coalition, all partners with parliamentary representation should have the opportunity to participate. The electoral campaign will not conclude without me engaging with everyone,” he emphasized.
