According to a report accessed, the survival chances of a 90-year-old man were deemed “similar, even under optimized conditions.”
The man passed away on November 4, 2024, coinciding with two strikes that exacerbated delays in service from INEM: the strike on overtime by Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians (TEPH) and the Public Service strike.
A previous IGAS report revealed that, on this day, over half of the calls to INEM were abandoned, with only 2,510 of 7,326 calls being attended to.
