IL achieves the best percentage result by municipalities in Oeiras

According to the provisional official results from the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), the Liberal Initiative (IL) saw an increase in votes in this municipality compared to last year’s elections, where it achieved 7.92% of the votes (8,450 voters).

The list of the top ten municipalities where IL garnered the highest percentage of votes includes Braga, with 9.47% of the votes, Lisbon with 9.27%, and within the Lisbon district, the municipalities of Arruda dos Vinhos with 8.45%, and Mafra with 8.25%.

In Porto, IL obtained 8.06% of the votes, 8% in Alcochete (Setúbal), and 7.95% in Maia (Porto).

In Aveiro and Vizela (Braga), the liberal party secured the same percentage of votes, at 7.46%.

The lowest percentage for IL was in the municipality of Freixo de Espada à Cinta (Bragança), with 0.7% and 12 votes.

The greatest positive variation in percentage points for IL was +1.82pp in Lisbon.

The AD won the legislative elections on Sunday, securing 89 seats, while PS and Chega tied in the number of parliamentary seats, with 58 each.

IL remains the fourth political force, now with one more deputy (nine) than in 2024, and the fifth position goes to Livre, which increased from four to six deputies.

The CDU (PCP/PEV) lost one seat, leaving them with three parliamentarians, while the BE and PAN both have one representative each.

The People’s Party of Madeira (JPP) succeeded in electing one deputy.

These results do not yet include votes from citizens residing abroad, with participation details to be revealed on May 28.
