The ISS announced that a facility located in São Domingos de Rana was closed on Tuesday following an inspection.
During this inspection, the facility housed 23 nursery-age children (from zero to 3 years) and 15 preschool-age children (over 3 years).
“The facility, which had only three staff members present, was immediately shut down due to inadequate installation and operational conditions, posing an imminent risk to the health and well-being of the children,” stated the ISS.
The organization added that all families were contacted and redirected to licensed options available in the district, with support from the Social Security District Centers.
“The urgent closure of a nursery is immediately decreed whenever inspections reveal an imminent danger to the children’s lives,” noted Social Security, emphasizing that these actions are accompanied by local teams to ensure alternative solutions for families, explained the ISS.
