Ponte da Barca celebrated its tradition on Sunday by preparing a massive honey cake, setting a new national record for the largest cake of its kind in the country.
This year’s cake measured an impressive 228.20 meters in length, surpassing last year’s record of 216 meters, also set in Ponte da Barca.
The municipality highlighted that the cake was crafted by local bakeries Doce Lima and Pastelaria Liz.
The event took place at Choupal, near the riverside area of the town, and featured live musical entertainment.
This marked the ninth edition of “The Largest Honey Cake.”
