The unemployment rate stood at 6.0%, a figure higher than both August and June of 2025 by 0.1 percentage points, and lower than September 2024 by 0.5 percentage points, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The INE also released final figures for August, revising the unemployment rate for that month downwards to 5.9% from the initially estimated 6.1%. This rate is 0.1 percentage points higher than July 2025 but 0.2 percentage points lower than May 2025, and 0.4 percentage points lower compared to August of the previous year.
