Infarmed suspends distribution of Pharmatrex due to “non-compliances”

The National Authority of Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) has suspended the wholesale distribution activities of the French entity Pharmatrex, citing the discovery of “non-compliance with good distribution practices”.

“The wholesale distribution activity for human-use medicines of the entity Pharmatrex was suspended following the detection of non-compliances with good distribution practices,” as disclosed by the French Competent Authority, according to an informative circular.

Consequently, “entities should refrain from trading medicines with this distributor.”

Infarmed also requests that “entities which have acquired medications from this distributor and/or have been contacted by this distributor to purchase medicines, should communicate it [to Infarmed] via e-mail”.

Furthermore, the authority warns that “medications supplied by unauthorized distributors should be considered counterfeit, and their quality, safety, and efficacy are not guaranteed, thus they cannot be marketed”.
