Boehringer Ingelheim Portugal has announced a voluntary recall of batch number R1335 of the drug Nolotil (Metamizol magnésico) 2000mg/5ml, injectable solution, as reported by the National Authority of Medicines and Health Products.
The regulatory body has instructed entities holding this batch in stock to refrain from selling, dispensing, or administering the medication. Instead, they must return it.
Patients using the affected medication are advised to consult their physician to determine the need for an alternative medicine.
Nolotil is an analgesic used for severe acute pain, including spasmodic and tumor pain, and high fever unresponsive to other antipyretic treatments.
