The prices in the leisure, recreation, sport, and culture sectors, along with various goods and services, recorded significant increases, rising by 2.47% and 1.82% respectively compared to April 2024, according to a statement from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).

The price index for food products and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.48% in the month under review, “owing to the rise in prices of meals purchased outside the home and take-away,” the same source added.

In terms of housing and fuels, there was a 0.21% increase, attributed to a rise in housing rents.

Conversely, in the fourth month of the year, there was an annual decline in prices in the information and communication sector (-3.01%), clothing and footwear (-2.35%), and transportation (-1.67%).

On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.16 compared to March 2025, as noted in the DSEC statement.
