
Comparatively to the previous month, the variation in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is estimated to be -0.3% (0.0% in October and -0.2% in November 2024), according to the statistical institute.
The core inflation indicator, which excludes products with more volatile prices such as unprocessed food and energy, is estimated to have recorded a variation of 1.9% in November, a rate 0.2 percentage points lower than in October.
The energy products index saw a variation of -0.9% (-1.2% in October), while the index for unprocessed food products slowed slightly to 6.0% (from 6.1% the previous month).
Over the past 12 months, the INE estimates an average CPI variation of 2.4% (identical to the previous month).
The Portuguese Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), an indicator that allows comparison with other European countries, is estimated to have recorded a year-on-year variation of 2.1% in November, compared to 2.0% the previous month.
The definitive data for the November 2025 CPI will be published by INE on December 12.
