“On September 11, 2025, the Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a final closure order for the investigation related to the seizure on November 7, 2023, from the office of the chief of staff of the prime minister of a ‘pen-drive’ containing Social Security data of various entities and individuals holding public positions”, announced today, in a statement, the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DCIAP).
The position of chief of staff was held by Vítor Escária, and the then prime minister, António Costa, was questioned as a witness.
