The Social Security is set to proceed with the payment of the Informal Caregiver Support Subsidy this Wednesday, as per the payment calendar provided at the beginning of the month.
Eligibility Criteria
According to Social Security, this subsidy is granted to primary informal caregivers who meet the following conditions:
- Satisfy the resource condition: The reference income of the household must not exceed 1.3 times the value of the Social Support Index – 679.25€ (IAS in 2025=522.50€);
- Not be beneficiaries of benefits that cannot be accumulated with the primary informal caregiver support subsidy, with the exception of early retirement pensions (see information below);
- The possibility of accumulating the support subsidy with early retirement pensions requires cumulatively the following conditions: demonstration that, at the date of the pension application or up to 12 months after that date, the pensioner was part of a household with a person entitled to a second-degree dependency supplement or a third-party assistance subsidy, or a first-degree dependency supplement.
Amount Received
“The amount of the support subsidy is equal to the difference between the sum of the primary informal caregiver’s income and the reference value of the subsidy. The reference amount of the subsidy is 574.75€ (1.1 times the value of the Social Support Index – IAS),” according to the Social Security website.
