The presidential candidate may conclude the “Health for All” initiative if his health condition permits, following a postponement of a television debate with João Cotrim Figueiredo due to health issues.
This public event is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the auditorium of the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge, aiming to “transform Portugal and improve health for all,” according to the candidate supported by the PS.
Participants include a range of professionals such as doctors, nurses, researchers, specialists, university professors, and students. Notably, former Health Minister Adalberto Campos Fernandes is a supporter of the presidential race.
Also endorsing the candidate are physician and PS leader Álvaro Beleza and the campaign’s representative, researcher Maria do Carmo Fonseca.
Other notable figures attending include former Health Minister and presidential candidate Maria de Belém Roseira, university professors Jaime Branco and Helena Freitas, and Paulo Peres, president of the National Association of Medical Students.
The discussions will cover topics such as improving healthcare, innovation in the sector, and challenges facing the national health service (SNS).
Healthcare has been a key issue for the candidate, who advocates for an agreement in this sector and presented a guide to André Ventura during a debate as a party leader.
