The agenda includes a Business and Investment Forum, attended by the Portuguese official alongside Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, and the meeting of the 7th joint bilateral commission between Portugal and Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion will also meet with the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah.
Castro Almeida’s visit also encompasses a presentation of the Qiddiya Project, an entertainment and sports hub that will feature the future stadium and training center of Al Nassr, where Portuguese players Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix play, and a visit to King Salman Park.
A showroom featuring 19 Portuguese brands from the home and jewelry sectors will also be inaugurated.
Castro Almeida will be accompanied by the Secretaries of State for Economy, João Rui Ferreira, and for Energy, Jean Barroca.
This visit follows a trip to Riyadh by the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, in October, where he advocated that Portugal and Saudi Arabia wish to give “new momentum” to bilateral relations, particularly through investments in sectors such as renewable energy or construction.
