
Two light vehicles, one carrying five occupants, were involved in a head-on collision at kilometer 387 of the IP2. Following the collision, “one of the vehicles, which was transporting five people, caught fire,” a source from the Beja District Relief Operations Center (CDOS) told Lusa.
“The vehicle fire spread to the nearby brush, requiring the deployment of specific means, and it has since been extinguished,” the source added.
The accident prompted the intervention of 34 emergency personnel and 16 vehicles from Civil Protection and firefighters, with the alert received at 02:06, according to a source from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).
“The IP2 remains completely closed,” informed the CDOS source from Beja.
