The yellow alert for the Central group of islands in the Azores (Pico, Faial, São Jorge, Terceira, and Graciosa) due to “occasionally heavy precipitation” was initially set from midnight until 9 p.m. today but has been extended until 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
This alert, the least severe on a three-level scale, is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk for certain activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
