IPSS de Vila Verde pays a minimum wage 90 euros above the national level in 2026.

The CSVH, a Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS), has announced plans to increase its internal minimum wage to 960 euros starting from January 1, 2026. This decision marks a 17.1% increase over the 2025 national minimum wage of 820 euros, positioning the CSVH 90 euros above the projected national minimum wage for 2026, which is set at 870 euros.

The CSVH provides services in the municipalities of Amares, Barcelos, Braga, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Terras de Bouro, and Vila Verde, with social programs reaching over 500 users, thereby playing a key role in the social development of the region.

“Among our approximately 300 professionals, more than 250 employees will benefit directly from this update, reinforcing the Institution’s commitment to valuing, motivating, and stabilizing its teams. This impact will also gradually extend to other professional categories, aligning progressions and reducing internal inequalities wherever financially feasible,” stated the IPSS.

The president of the Institution emphasized that “the CSVH consistently upholds a clear policy of valuing its human capital.”

“We believe that financial sustainability must go hand-in-hand with recognizing the merit, dedication, and responsibility of our professionals. As in recent years, we continue to ensure dignified and competitive conditions, aligning the social sector with other areas where similar functions are already more valued,” remarked Jorge Pereira, quoted in the announcement.

The president of CSVH stressed that this salary update, “similar to the previous year, is more than just a salary increase.”

“It is an investment in our teams’ quality of life. Beyond salaries, we continue to develop internal initiatives that promote well-being, balance, and support for our employees,” emphasized Jorge Pereira.

In addition to the wage adjustment, the CSVH has highlighted investments in more efficient management tools that optimize resources and ensure balanced distribution of internal responsibilities.

This organizational and planning work, added the IPSS, “is essential to ensure salary improvements are sustainable, maintaining service continuity without compromising the Institution’s financial stability.”

“The management emphasizes that this measure is part of a broader internal consolidation strategy, which also includes ongoing team training, improved working conditions, and the implementation of new people management practices. The goal is clear: to attract, retain, and develop talent in the social sector, contributing to higher-quality services and increasingly qualified responses to the communities where the CSVH operates,” the statement reads.

The CSVH further highlighted its significant growth in social intervention and service offerings, noting that expanding projects—including new differentiated solutions in social, residential, and health areas—”will necessitate reinforcing teams in the coming years, making it essential to implement attractive and fair policies.”
