Have you heard of the Remuneration Declaration? “It is an obligation for employers to submit the Remuneration Declaration every month to Social Security, in which they must indicate, for each employee, the amount of remuneration subject to deductions, working hours, and applicable contribution rate,” explains the Social Security Institute (ISS).
In a practical guide published on Monday, the ISS specifies who must submit this declaration:
- Legal Entities – they must be registered with the Social Security System as employers (with employees or remunerated statutory members);
- Employer Representatives;
- Individuals who are Employers with one or more employees.
How can the Declaration be submitted? “The Remuneration Declaration is submitted by Employers or their Legal Representatives through electronic data transmission on the Social Security website, www.segsocial.pt, via Social Security Direct or through the Monthly Remuneration Declaration (DMR) access channel.”
