Previously, the Ministry of Justice confirmed a failure in a network device at the Lisbon Justice Palace, recorded at 1:30 PM, which has since prevented access to internet applications and services. In response, the Institute for Financial Management and Justice Equipment (IGFEJ) dispatched a team to the site.
The Union of Judicial Employees reported a complete network failure at the Lisbon Justice Palace today, hindering access to the court’s IT platform, telephones, and internet, and causing delays in proceedings.
A week ago, judicial employees had already highlighted IT and network issues in the courts, which disrupted normal operations. At the time, IGFEJ attributed the problem to the sole network operator for the courts, MEO, which currently manages both the main and redundant networks.
Today, the Ministry of Justice clarified that “the second circuit [redundant network, which ensures continuity of service in the event of a primary system failure] is not from the same operator.”
