A video that became viral on social media shows two thefts occurring within minutes of each other on Saturday in Lisbon. The footage was captured by a TVDE vehicle and has been shared widely online. This was confirmed in a statement released by the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) on Monday.
Initially, a man, reportedly a tourist, was the first target of the thieves. He attempted to chase after the assailant but stumbled and fell. Subsequent footage reveals the suspect surrounded by three individuals—two of whom are a couple, and another person. During their interaction in the video, the third individual snatches a bag from the woman’s shoulder and flees.
The second suspect, responsible for robbing the woman, is identified as a 30-year-old who stole a mobile phone valued at 800 euros and several documents from her bag.
The PSP noted that the entire event was “captured by the video recording system of a TVDE vehicle.” The apprehended individual was subsequently brought before a court and remains in preventive detention. Meanwhile, the first suspect has not yet been identified.
