It’s still summer! Temperatures increase from the weekend (up to 35ºC)

In a statement, IPMA indicated that until Thursday, weather conditions will be affected by a westerly current associated with weak frontal undulations, bringing precipitation, particularly on Wednesday, especially in the North and Center regions.

On Thursday, this situation will be limited to Minho and Douro Litoral, the notice adds.

From Friday afternoon until the 16th, “the intensification of the anticyclonic ridge should provide partly cloudy or clear skies, yet with mist and morning fog along the coast north of Cabo Raso, a condition that may persist in Minho for several days.

Maximum temperatures, currently below the seasonal average, will rise slightly on Thursday, except in Minho, Douro Litoral, and the coastal strip north of Cabo da Roca.

IPMA also notes a forecast for a more significant and widespread increase on Sunday.

According to predictions, on the 14th and 15th, temperatures are expected to range between 30 and 35 degrees in the South, in the Tagus Valley, and some areas of the North and Center interior, “values above normal for this time of year.”

Elsewhere, maximum temperatures are expected to remain below 30 degrees.
