Slow J, Richie Campbell, James, Jorge Palma, Capitão Fausto and Ornatos Violeta are some of the artists at this year’s Crato Festival, an initiative that will take place between August 28 and 31, the organization announced today.

Promoted by the Câmara de Crato, in the district of Portalegre, the festival will take place in the center of the town, in parallel with the 38th Crafts and Gastronomy Fair of the Municipality of Crato.

Speaking to the Lusa news agency, the mayor of Crato considers this year’s edition of the festival to be a success, with a “wide-ranging program”, stressing that there are two days more dedicated to young people and another two dedicated to other age groups.

“We always hope that there will be a mix on all these days, where younger people can go to those concerts with more experienced bands and people with more experience, who are older, can also see the new projects that are emerging,” he said.

On the first day, August 28, Pikika, Ivandro and Slow J will play at the festival; on the second day, August 29, Van Zee, Orochi and Richie Campbell will perform.

On the third day of the festival, August 30, Akoustic Junkies, Jorge Palma, with Sérgio Godinho as a guest, take to the stage and the evening ends with a concert by James.

On August 31, the last day of the festival, Bateu Matou, with guest Rão Kyao, Capitão Fausto and Ornatos Violeta have been announced.

Every day after the concerts there will be ‘after hours’ with DJs Ana Isabel Arroja, Matcho, I Love Baile Funk + DJ Wilson Honrado and Danni Gato + DJ Fernando Alvim.

The 38th Crafts and Gastronomy Fair of the Municipality of Crato, with free admission, will feature dozens of exhibitors and a stage where mainly popular musical projects from the Alentejo region will perform.

The festival also has a camping area about 400 meters from the venue.

According to the organizers, entry to the Crato Festival is paid and daily tickets and passes for the four days of the musical event are already on sale.
