“The results for the CDU [in Lisbon], if confirmed, are quite significant for us. We highly value being the third political force in the city, which is very representative in the broader political context in 2025, substantially different from four years ago,” stated the second candidate for the Lisbon Municipal Assembly to journalists.
Natacha Amaro emphasized that these poll results, if confirmed, carry even greater importance “in a scenario where this electoral campaign was conducted with a strong call for the supposed useful vote, and a significant polarization between two other candidates.”
The lists led by social democrat Carlos Moedas and socialist Alexandra Leitão are tied in the race for the Lisbon City Hall in today’s municipal elections, according to television projections released at 20:00.
The Now projection attributes Carlos Moedas (PSD/CDS-PP/IL), the current mayor, with six to eight mandates, achieving 37.9% to 41.9%, while Alexandra Leitão (PS/Livre/BE/PAN) has the same number of mandates, with 34.8% to 38.8%.
The remaining mandates are expected to go to the CDU (PCP/PEV coalition) and Chega, which may make its debut in the capital’s executive.
According to RTP, Moedas and Leitão each gather between 37% and 42%, with six to nine mandates out of a total of 17, while the CDU, led by João Ferreira, secures one to two councilors (8% – 11%), as does Chega (7% – 10%).
The prediction by CNN and SIC places the PSD-led list between 36% and 42% and the PS-led coalition between 33.7% and 38.9%. In this scenario, CDU captures 9% to 12.4% of votes, and Chega 7.7% to 11.1%.
