João Veiga Anjos is the new financial administrator of Santander Portugal

The Santander announced that “João Veiga Anjos will join the Executive Committee of Santander Portugal as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) starting August 1.”

In another statement to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), the bank reported that Manuel António Amaral Franco Preto has “resigned from his position as a member of the Bank’s Board of Directors, effective from July 31, due to being appointed to new responsibilities within the Santander Group, whose level of required availability is incompatible with maintaining the current position.”

According to Santander, Manuel Preto will assume the global role of Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) for the Santander Group.

João Veiga Anjos holds a degree in Business Management from the Universidade Católica and has significant professional experience in the financial sector and at Santander, where he has held leadership roles in Portugal and Brazil across various areas, including Corporate Finance and Corporate Banking. He has been leading the investment banking area in Portugal since 2016.

The new executive joined Santander in 1994.
