The promoter announced today that the three musicians will perform on May 2 at Cine-Teatro Louletano, on May 16 at Centro de Artes e Espetáculos de Vale de Cambra, and on May 23 at the Municipal Auditorium of Vila Nova de Gaia.
The show “3 palmas na mão” was originally scheduled to debut this week in Lisbon, with two concerts at Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon, but these dates have been postponed to July 22 and 23 due to Jorge Palma’s health issues.
At 74, Jorge Palma will be joined on stage by his sons and fellow musicians Vicente Palma and Francisco Palma for a wide-ranging setlist, featuring original songs and versions from the creator of “Bairro do Amor”.
Speaking through the agency, Jorge Palma explained that “the most substantial part” of the show consists of his own songs, spanning from his first album to the most recent one.
“But there will also be room for covers of songs that mean a lot to the three of us (…) and perhaps there might be solos from Vicente and Francisco, either of their own songs or of others,” he anticipated.
The title of the show initially served as the name of Jorge Palma and his sons’ group on the Whatsapp platform before becoming a song included in Palma’s latest album, “Vida”. Now it takes the form of a concert.
“I am proud to have them with me on stage and to realize that, in some way, music lives in them as it does in me. But above all, it makes me happy and excites me to have Vicente and Francisco as fellow musicians, talented and capable of sustaining this show,” Jorge Palma praised.
