José Carlos Resende, founder and first President of the Order of Solicitors, has died

The founder and first President of the Order of Solicitors and Enforcement Agents (OSAE), José Carlos Resende, died today at the age of 69 in Viana do Castelo, a municipal source confirmed.

José Carlos Resende was president of the Chamber of Solicitors from 2011 until the creation of OSAE in 2015, when he became its first president until 2022.

Born in Porto, José Carlos Resende settled in Viana do Castelo after April 25, 1974, where he founded the local branch of the Popular Democratic Union (UDP).

For 25 years he led the PS bench in the Viana do Castelo Municipal Assembly.

Among other roles, he was president of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Viana do Castelo and a founding member of Rádio Alto Minho.

The body will be in a burning chamber at the municipal mortuary in Viana do Castelo and will be taken to the crematorium in Matosinhos on Thursday.
