The results announced at the 14th National Convention of Bloco de Esquerda (BE), concluding today at the municipal pavilion of Casal Vistoso in Lisbon, revealed that the list for the National Board led by José Manuel Pureza received 384 votes, translating to 65 seats.
Motion S secured 47 votes, resulting in eight seats, followed by motion H with 26 votes and four seats, and motion B with 15 votes and three seats.
Although the position of coordinator is not formally outlined in BE’s statutes, according to the winning motion, “the coordination of the Political Commission will be entrusted to the head of the most voted list for the National Board,” namely José Manuel Pureza.
During the last National Convention of BE, the motion led by Mariana Mortágua at that time won 67 out of 80 seats on the National Board, strengthening its presence in this body compared to the previous election.
