Jota Quest fulfill “dream” and perform at Coliseu dos Recreios on Friday.

O Jota Quest is returning to Portugal. The Brazilian band will perform at the Coliseu dos Recreios in what they describe as, by far, “the largest and happiest” tour of their career.

The band arrives in Lisbon to celebrate nearly 30 years together and to present their latest album ‘De Volta Ao Novo’, released in 2023.

Rogério Flausino (vocals), Marco Túlio (guitar), PJ (bass), Márcio Buzelin (keyboard), and Paulo Fonseca (drums) have been together since the band’s inception and maintain that while they have preserved their essence, they have entered a new phase since the pandemic.

“We are very happy and excited with everything we’ve been experiencing over the last three years, since our last visit here. The band simply reborn. It’s always a huge pleasure to be here with you, but I feel that this time it will be even more special,” they state. This marks the third time Jota Quest will perform in Portugal, but this visit is particularly special. The band will take the stage that has long been on their bucket list, as explained to Notícias ao Minuto.

“When we first came to Portugal, we were promoting our album and then had lunch at a traditional restaurant next to the Coliseu. I stepped outside, maybe for a smoke, and when I saw that building, I asked: what is this?” recounts Rogério, remembering that a companion took him to visit the venue, leaving him enamored.

“Wow, how beautiful. One day I want to perform here,” he reportedly said at the time. And now, ten years later, the dream becomes a reality.

The concert, set to start at 21h, promises to revisit the hits that have marked their journey, with songs like ‘Amor Maior’, ‘Dias Melhores’, ‘Fácil’, ‘Só Hoje’, and ‘Do Seu Lado’.

Following Lisbon, the ‘EuroTour 2025’ will continue to Ireland on Saturday and England on Sunday.
