In a statement, the PJ explains that, on Tuesday, the Public Security Police (PSP) reported to the Judicial Police the occurrence of a fire affecting three vehicles parked in a specific area.
Following this report, the PJ managed to identify the perpetrator of the fire, discovering that the vehicle where the fire started is commonly used as an overnight shelter by drug addicts.
According to the suspect, the drug addicts allegedly stole various belongings from him.
“In an act of revenge, the man set fire to the vehicles and admitted to being responsible for the fire, which could have had more serious consequences if not for the prompt intervention of the Almada firefighters,” states the PJ.
The detainee, who has a criminal record for drug trafficking, will be brought before a judge for the first judicial interrogation and application of pre-trial custody measures.
