The Eurovision Song Contest preparations officially commenced this Sunday, with the first semifinal taking place on Tuesday, May 13, featuring a performance by Portugal.
Participants walked the turquoise carpet in Basel, Switzerland, marking the start of Eurovision week.
The event was marked by significant public protests against the team representing Israel and an oversight in the online broadcast that failed to show the Portuguese representatives, NAPA, on the carpet.
Despite these issues, the ceremony also featured moments of excitement, flair, and elegance, with participants showcasing their best appearances and attire.

It is noteworthy that the Portuguese group NAPA will perform in the first semifinal, taking the stage in the seventh position, between the highly favored Sweden and Norway.
