A man was arrested by the Judiciary Police (PJ) on Tuesday in Carregado on suspicion of “kidnapping and raping a woman with motor disabilities.”
A statement from the PJ disclosed that the “facts began last Monday when the 22-year-old victim called the assailant, a friend of her brother, asking for a ride to her home,” in Alenquer.
“The man agreed to the request, but instead of dropping her at her residence, he took her, against her will, to Carregado, where he lives,” the statement reads.
The PJ further explains that the suspect “kept her captive for approximately 24 hours, having raped her multiple times and physically assaulted her.”
The victim seized the opportunity “when the assailant went to the bathroom” and “managed to call her father, who went to the GNR in Alenquer to report the facts.”
The GNR then contacted the PJ, “which immediately initiated investigative procedures that led to locating and detaining the suspect.”
The detainee will appear for an initial court hearing for the implementation of preventive measures.
